Representatives from Healthwatch Shropshire recently travelled to London to join forces with more than 100 fellow local Healthwatch organisations at the annual parliamentary reception.

A local charity, Healthwatch Shropshire, is finding that the widely accepted benefits of volunteering for individuals and their communities are certainly true.

We visited the surgery to engage with service users and staff to understand how the practice was providing confidentiality, dignity and respect and continuity of care following a change of service.

This visit was part of a programme of visits to care homes that are registered by the CQC as providing Dementia care to learn more about the care they provide and identify areas of good practice.

We visit to explore the quality of life experienced by residents in The Mount and Severn View; particularly in the context of refurbishments taking place.

Health issues unfortunately don't leave us alone at the weekend and people are often in need of medical assistance out of hours. Using NHS guidelines, we have provided some advice and information on where you can go for help when your GP is closed.

This report produced by Patient and Carer Experience explores the the experience of rurally-based mental health service users with a serious mental illness, their carers and clinicians; it identifies the particular barriers and challenges they face.

We heard that people were finding it increasingly difficult to access ear wax removal services, even though they had previously received treatment. We decided to focus on patient experience of audiology and hearing loss services.

We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Lynn Cawley as our new Chief Officer. Ms Cawley has worked as the Enter & View Officer with us for the past 3 years following a career in social work and the education sector.
