Help shape the future of health and care in Shropshire
At Healthwatch Shropshire, we believe that people’s voices should be at the heart of health and social care. As our new Public Engagement & Insight Officer, you’ll play a key role in listening to local communities and turning their experiences into evidence that leads to real improvements.
This is a varied and rewarding part-time role in a small, dedicated team where your work will have a visible impact.
What you’ll do:
- Collect feedback from the public, especially underrepresented communities
- Plan and attend outreach events across Shropshire
- Use digital tools and systems to analyse and report on trends
- Present insights to decision-makers in clear and compelling ways
- Support research projects and contribute to wider Healthwatch activities
- Help bring the public voice into health and care planning
What you’ll bring:
We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Confidence in using digital tools (Microsoft 365, CRMs, survey software)
- Experience in community engagement, insight, or public service work
- Excellent organisational skills and a proactive attitude
- A commitment to inclusion, equity and amplifying lived experience
You don’t need a background in health or social care but you do need a passion for helping people to be heard and a curiosity about what can be done better.
Who we are:
Healthwatch Shropshire is the county’s independent health and social care champion, working to ensure that people’s experiences improve the services they use.
From 1 July 2025, we will be a part of the Community Resource family, a Shropshire-based charity with a mission to help people and communities across the county thrive.
Together, our work is guided by values of:
