HEALTHWATCH SHROPSHIRE ASKS PUBLIC TO SHARE EXPERIENCES OF GETTING PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION

Healthwatch Shropshire is calling on local people to share their recent experiences of getting medication on prescription – whether through their GP, local pharmacy, or using online services like the NHS App.

We want to hear from anyone who has used these services and has either positive or negative feedback to report.

In our recent Pharmacy Report, we heard that new services like Pharmacy First may be contributing to longer waits and queues, with some people reporting delays in receiving their prescriptions. We’ve also heard of medication supply issues, particularly for commonly used drugs.

Lynn Cawley, Chief Officer of Healthwatch Shropshire, said:

“Access to essential medication is a cornerstone of our health system. As services like Pharmacy First expand and the way prescriptions are handled continues to change, it’s vital that we hear from the public. These changes may be affecting how quickly and easily people can get the medicines they rely on, and we need to make sure no one is being left behind.”

“We want to hear about the challenges – but also what’s working well. Every piece of feedback we receive is treated confidentially and used to influence how services are delivered across the county.”

Healthwatch Shropshire shares all feedback it receives anonymously with the organisations that provide and commission local services to help improve care for everyone.

If you’ve had a recent experience with prescription medications – positive or negative – we want to hear from you. Your voice can make a difference.
