HEALTHWATCH SHROPSHIRE PUBLISHES REPORT ON ACCESS TO MEDICATION ACROSS THE COUNTY

Healthwatch Shropshire has today published a new report exploring people’s experiences of accessing medication, highlighting both positive progress and ongoing challenges within local pharmacy and prescribing systems.

Key Findings

The Report shows a mixed picture of experiences 

  • 45% of respondents said the NHS App made ordering prescriptions “quick and easy” 

  • 20% praised the speed and helpfulness of pharmacy staff 

  • However, 20% reported unacceptable waiting times 

  • 10% described the system as confusing or inefficient 

  • Some people experienced multiple trips to pharmacies due to stock issues or delays
