Chief Officer - Lynn Cawley
Lynn has worked at Healthwatch Shropshire for 10 years and is passionate about bringing the voice of the people of Shropshire to those running health and social care services to help them to identify what is working well, where the gaps are and where things can be improved.
Before joining Healthwatch Shropshire Lynn taught in Further Education, mentored other teachers, and provided student support across a range of subjects. She has also worked as a Children and Families Social Worker in Shropshire specialising in prevention and multi-agency working.
Lynn is a trained actor and Director with experience of lighting and set design. She enjoys being involved in amateur dramatics when she has the time and has a cocker poo called Midge (aka ‘Mooie’).
Lynn is a trained Authorised Representative for Enter and View visits.

Hannah Davies - Community Engagement Officer
Hannah joined Healthwatch Shropshire in July 2023 and plays a key role in gathering people’s experiences of health and social care across the county. You’ll often find her out and about in hospitals, libraries, and community events, listening to local voices.
With a background in beauty retail and a degree in Deaf Studies and Linguistics, Hannah brings a strong passion for accessibility, equality, and end-of-life care. She is a keen crafter, and theatre-goer,
Liz Florendine - Communication and Involvement Officer
Liz leads on communications and volunteer coordination at Healthwatch Shropshire, encouraging residents to get involved in shaping local health and social care services. She also supports engagement activities and enquiries, and works as an Independent Health Complaints Advocate (IHCAS).
After joining in 2022, Liz spent 14 months living in New Zealand with her family and is now back, excited to continue working with the Shropshire community to improve services for everyone.
Emily Bell - Community Engagement and Insight Officer
Emily collects and log the public's experiences of health and social care in our community. She brings a deep commitment to amplifying the voices of those who are often overlooked or unheard through her role here at Healthwatch Shropshire
Prior to this, she spent 20 years working in Marketing and PR, specialising in children's licensing. After qualifying as a personal and professional development coach 8 years ago, she continued to consult in children's licensing, whilst coaching and taking on the role of Chair of Trustees for The Shrewsbury Ark, a day centre for homeless and vulnerable people.
Marie Ryder - Enter and View Officer and Independent Health Complaints Advocate Coordinator.
Marie leads on the enter and view programme and supports individuals through the NHS complaints process, providing guidance and support as needed.
She joined the team after working in the NHS for 37 years; she is a qualified nurse with a master’s degree in advanced practice. She has worked in multiple settings including A&E, Walk-in Centres, Offender Health and as a Community Matron for the homeless. In the latter part of her time in the NHS, she worked in Quality Governance which included overseeing the Trusts PALS and complaints team and other aspects of quality. She is excited to use her experience to support individuals navigate the NHS complaints process and ensure that their experiences are shared with the right people.
Our Volunteer Authorised Representatives
Many of our volunteers train to become Authorised Representatives (ARs) so they can gather the views of patients and service users through our Enter & View programme of visits to health services and residential care homes. More information about Enter and View.
