The platform, currently used by the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH), includes information to inform and empower patients through their treatment journey and enables them to remotely answer questions and enter symptoms so their care team can monitor their condition.
Patients will be able to access a range of information, such as videos, articles and exercise routines to help them manage their condition, and track their progress.
Kerry Robinson, Senior Responsible Officer for the Transforming Musculoskeletal Services Programme, said: “We’re thrilled to team up with myrecovery to be able to offer this great resource to our patients in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
“The rollout of this app is part of our bigger transformation programme for MSK, where we are planning to simplify the patient referral process, make it easier for people to move between our MSK services, and ensure that people have access to the same high standard of care wherever they live in the county.
“The app will allow our teams to tailor information and advice to the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach, whilst also enabling them to remotely monitor patient status and progress.”
Stuart Hubbard, Head of Partnerships at Future Health Works said: “It is a privilege for us to expand from supporting patients using the fantastic Veterans Orthopaedic service at the RJAH, to now supporting patients and care teams across the county.
“We look forward to being a part of the county’s MSK service transformation, helping patients through their treatment journey, both in the community and those who are referred to surgery, whilst also providing important insights to the care teams.”
The myrecovery app and msk.ai dashboard will also help the musculoskeletal teams when it comes to collecting and reporting data, helping staff to get a better understanding of patient disease progression, treatment outcomes, their performance and the care they provide.
The MSK transformation programme team will be offering demonstrations of the app over the next couple of months so that staff and patients have the chance to see how it works ahead of the launch.
