Community Mental Health remodeling plan

You told us that, as carers for people with mental health conditions, you felt unsupported by healthcare professionals. You told us that you often felt uninvolved in the treatment of the person you care for.

You don't feel listened to and you don't feel that the triangle of care is being adopted.

We facilitated a meeting between a carer and the Centre Manager at the Redwoods. The purpose of this was to give the carer the opportunity to share their concerns and ask questions. As a result of the initial meeting the carer was invited to a Ward Managers meeting to share experiences of being a carer, in particular for Shared Lives.

A big focus of the Community Remodelling Plan is the involvement of carers and their experiences. Listening to people's concerns and demonstrating change to improve services is essential to its success.

All the comments we have received around this subject have been shared (anonymised)with relevant providers and commissioners to help inform service change and improvement.
