Musculoskeletal Services

You shared your experiences with us of using Physiotherapy Services in Shropshire as part of our August Hot Topic.

These included comments about waiting times to access physiotherapists, feeling unsupported by either your GP or physiotherapist and concerns about being given a sheet of exercises to do without any proper guidance.

We shared this information (anonymised) with the Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group, who commission musculoskeletal services in the county. They are currently undergoing a review of these services and your comments will help to inform the direction the new service will take. In January 2017 the comments were referenced in a response to a parliamentary hub question regarding the adequacy of the availability of NHS physiotherapists in Shropshire.

We hope to have more information to share with you about changes and improvements to the service by the spring.
