Two Weeks Left to Share Your Virtual Wards Experience - Your Voice Matters.

Healthwatch Shropshire would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has already shared their experiences of Virtual Wards.
There are now two more weeks to share your experience and have your feedback included in our report. After this, the survey will remain open so you can continue to share your experiences, and any feedback received will be used by Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust to support the ongoing monitoring of the service’s impact.
person receiving healthcare at home

More people across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin are receiving hospital level care in the comfort of their own homes through the NHS Virtual Ward service. Since launching our call for feedback in partnership with Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust, we’ve heard from patients, families and carers about how the service is supporting people to recover at home.

Early responses show just how important Virtual Wards are to the people who use them. One person who recently shared their experience described how being cared for at home made a real difference:

“For me, the virtual ward worked very, very well. It took pressure off the GP and the hospital… Knowing that if I needed help, they were there, was very reassuring.”

They also highlighted the emotional benefits of being treated at home:

“Being at home made a difference emotionally. It does make you feel brighter, more engaged with everything that’s going on.”

These experiences highlight how Virtual Wards can support people to recover in familiar surroundings while still receiving regular monitoring and professional care.

Healthwatch Shropshire is keen to hear from anyone who has received Virtual Ward care or supported a friend or relative using the service. Your feedback will help shape how the service develops going forward and ensure it continues to meet the needs of local communities.
